Hospices throughout the country face the daily task of caring for those who sadly have little time left with us in the most dignified and compassionate way possible, at the same time offering respect and comfort to both the patient.
But it is not just the hospices themselves that are important to us, the individual matters too. We have recently provided specialist chairs for two children, one who has Huntingdon's disease and the other who has a brain injury, causing them to have epilepsy, to enable them to sit comfortably.
The chairs needed to be custom-made to individually fit the two children. On average, the government funds around 30% of the monies needed to run a successful hospice and, therefore, other sources of income are needed.
Some hospices simply don't have the time or resources to spare to instigate the extra funding, so that's where we come in. We are a national UK charity that will help to provide these funds.
